Study from 17Jan2021; The Curse(d)

Referring to Rev. 20, the sentence carried out on those who did evil;  these were cast into the lake of fire, the 'second death'. Q: Who are these?  A: All those who reject God, especially those who were given the oracles, His Law, and profaned it, perverted it into 'religion', and who ignore God's laws, making their own desires define what is 'right' and just.  This defines the man who trusts in his own ideas of what's right, and are 'cursed' because of it.

Scriptures and Passages covered 1/10/21: What's in store?

Consequential to the events of recent times, and the impending persecution coming by the new regime in our capital, there is ample exhortation and admonition to not rely on the 'life' you have today.  God's blessings, that you think will carry you through, are more than temporal, earthly, or carnal, (if they are even that, at all).

The news making the rounds in social media, and on network broadcasts, regarding the events subsequent to our election, have proven to be the death knell of our form of government. The actions, taken by the incoming rulers and the media, and accepted by so many of the nation's population, leave no doubt that our freedoms are not just at risk, but are guaranteed to be rescinded. While the 2A freedom advocates are on alert, what is surprising is how few 'christians' are, about the safety of God's Word.  This (book), too, is 'evil' in the godless ranks of socialists now running the country.

Our study today highlights the mistaken assumption that 'believers' (the general consensus being 'Christians'), will be spared problems and hardships as these changes come about.  Sadly, this is the start of the end. (maybe not just the start; we could be far into that chain of events already!  time will tell how far along we are!).

The generalization of this study can be: 'As the master, so the servant!'.  So we start in...

  • Matt. 10:5 - 8, 16 - 21
  • Rev. 19:11 - 15
  • Rev. 6:9 - 12
  • John 8:1 - 11
  • Lev. 24:10 - E
  • Num. 35:9 - 15
    • Gen. 9:3 - 6
  • Num. 35: 12 - E
  • Deut. 19:1 - E
  • Rom. 1:16 - 23
  • Ex. 20:1 - 7
  • Deut. 4:1 - 24
  • Rom. 1:24 - E
  • Rom. 13:1 - 4
  • 2 Pet. 2:1
    • Ex. 22:1 - 27
  • Gen. 11: story of Babel; analogous to the universal digital age we live in.
  • Deut. 31:22 - E Imaginations to do evil
  • Gen. 6:1 - 8  inagining evil, continually.

Scripture Passages from 1/6/3 study: the Millenium!

We moved forward in our study of the book of Revelations (of John).

  • Rev. 20:1-10
  • Rev. 19: 19-20
  • Rev. 20: 11-E
    • Is. 24:1-6
      • Jer. 17:1-10
    • Is. 24: 6-E
  • Rev. 19:11-16
    • 2 Tim. 3:1-7
    • 2 Tim. 4:1-18
    • Philip. 3:8...
    • IS 52: 6-E
    • Philip. 3: 9-E
A study of the events occurring at the start of the Millenium, (Christ's return; His vengeance poured out; 'Satan' bound; encouragement to 'Sacrifice for eternity'  = give up claim to all you hold dear on this earth); and glimpses of life here during the Millenium, and then the foolishness of rebellious man, that brings 'the ages to come'!

Particular note:  '...his visage was so marred...', (v.14), does not mean his actual form or how he looks, (usually thought to mean: what he looked like after his punishment, and as he hung on the cross). A 'visage' is the image people have of a thing.  Therefore, this specifically refers to the mental image, the idea, the 'persona', the characteristics people attribute to Christ, and ultimately, to God.  Whether it be a 'chore-boy', a god who does things for you,  or an idea of a loving god who overlooks repeated faults, (sins), or who gives every(/any-)one a 'free pass' just for speaking a 'sinner's prayer; this is an image of god that does not match His Word.

Scripture Passages covered on 1/3/21

 These are the passages we covered in this morning's study;

We continued our study of the Revelations of John, the last book in the New Testament. Many churches ignore this book, or study it with the expectation that it's all 'yet to come', not understanding the spiritual context of the pictures it paints.

Thus far, we are working on chapter 19, and have covered many of the topics currently in vogue with those focused on the 'Apocalypse'.

Note!*  As you review these scriptures, try to find the binding concept that ties these passages together. (As stated earlier, the specific passages indented, were correlating or further defining ideas that relate to the passage immediately before the indented verses.)
