  • Rev. 21:6 - 10   "Bride"
    • Gal. 4:22 - 26

  • (re: New Jerusalem coming down in Rev. 21);  This 'new Jerusalem' doesn't replace the 'old Jerusalem!. Because, the N.J. isn't 'brick and mortar'!  It's spiritual, not constrained by space or location. It is the reality of ' the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of God as waters cover the sea'. Saints will be anywhere, everywhere, throughout the globe.
  • The bride is Jews, being what they were betrothed to be at Sinai:  the nation of Kings and Priests, to become a 'fertile woman, bringing sons into the world.  Gentils are not the Bride; how can they be when those, (Jew and Gentile) are re-born as 'SONS" of GOD.  Sons can't be wives; That's INCEST!

  • Rom. 8: 1 - 2, 4 - 23, 35 - E

The study began with a history lesson, focused on our Constitution, and the founding fathers' mentality; James Madison's quote about our constitution and form of government being 'suitable 'only for a moral people, and totally irrelevant for a nation without morals.

Our nation is 'immoral'. Child sex trafficking, abortions demanding people (of both sexes), of "trans-genderism" and that lie being indoctrinated into the elementary school curriculum, the idiocy of Critical Theory, 'racism', and being 'victims' just because of your skin color; all describe the world condition ripe for HIS return.

Kids, Be ready!  Look up; Redemption will be here. Be ready!

Notes:
  1. (re: demon,  this comes from pagan religions, where there are many gods, spirits, and forces that can affect man.  Realize that medical knowledge was non-existent!  No one knew of bacteria, viruses, germs, or chemicals in the body that affect behaviors. Therefore, something had to be 'invented' that could explain why someone was ill, or 'not normal'. Spirits or 'devils' or demons provided that 'scapegoat'.)
  2. Christianity still believes that 'being filled with the Holy Spirit' is, in essence, 'being possessed' by god! Yes, we can rebel, but if we don't, the 'Spirit' makes us do whatever..!  Not so! Not true!  We submit ourselves to obeying HIS commandments, to 'loving GOD'; or we don't!  If we do, it is our will that is 'agreeing with HIS Spirit' (Rom. 8:16)
  3. Is. 45 has multiple proclamations, by GOD, that there is no other 'power' than HIM!  No demons, no devils, no satan, (other than men who "savor not the things that be of GOD" [Matt.16:23]).

Notice:  The internet service on site was sporadic, dropping out multiple times during the recording. Because I was trying to re-connect and re-initiate the Zoom program, I missed some details of which book/chapter/verses were read.  If I can gather that info from anyone who was in attendance, I will update this plst.

The recording  has 'dead-air' intervals due to the lost connections.  I am working on getting this resolved.

  • Note:  In discussing 2P 2:21, Jordan used the term 'sign' referring to Baptism.   To clarify: The only entity that this would be a sign to, is GOD, but then, why does he need a physical sign.  HE doesn't, HE sees the thoughts and intents of each person's heart. Baptism is "OBEDIENCE" to the pattern set up throughout the OT, fulfilled by Christ, and commanded by Him to His Apostles. (Matt. 28:19; Mark 16:16; Luke 24:47!). But Peter didn't follow those records of what Christ 'said', on the day of Pentecost! Nor did any other Apostles, whose recorded instances of obedience by followers throughout the rest of the 'Acts of the Apostles' writing, veer from Peter's expression of the command.
  • The unmentioned situation, that of someone being baptized according to Peter's expression, and not living the new life, not 'dying' to the flesh, rather, remaining 'in bondage to sin',  is judged as if he were not, or, judged worse that someone who never was.  They have trodden the blood of the cross 'underfoot', done despite to the cross, and 'taken the name of the Lord, in vain'.

Notes:
(re: Lev. 26:26: "10 women will bake your bread in one oven,  and they shall deliver to you  your bread again by weight...)  Its a curious picture stated here,  'that 10 women will bake ('Israel's) bread, in one oven, and then deliver it (sell it?) back to them by measure.'  Israel was never supposed to be 'beholden' to any one. They were to supply the world with the bread of life.   Yet, 10 'strange' women are given the job to baking bread?  using the 'dough, (wheat, water, leavening, seasoning ingredients they brought together to form the dough), and provided that to these women to apply fire to, and bake.  Israel was redeemed from the 'furnace' of Egypt and was commissioned to be kings and priests, for the whole earth. They abdicated that role from the start. They still have not assumed it, and won't until the millennium is realized.

Knowing GOD requires 'living righteously'

    • Gal. 5:16 - 17

NOTES:
  • (re: Deut 13): Israel, having just come from slavery in Egypt, and having just seen the miracles of their 'redemption',  should have 'known'  their GOD. The tablets should have reinforced their understanding of  HIS Holiness, Righteousness, and what was expected for their future. (They were also told of the consequences if they didn't live up to that expectation). So when God told them to acknowledge when a prophet tried to lead them away with signs and wonders, (miracles, or prophecies), from the GOD that redeemed them, they were to recognize exactly, explicitly that the prophet was a deceiver, a false prophet;  this required swift judgment: stoning!
  • (re: Ezek.22): Failing to abide by that, they became 'contaminated', no longer the 'chaste virgin', but a whore, murderers, ravening lions seeking whom they could 'devour'.
  • (re: NT passages):  "Knowing" GOD, requires LIving 'godly', separately, uncontaminated by the filth of the world, by the evil people do to destroy your faith.  Be separate;  don't  'mix in'.

17 May 2023 man, created in GOD's Image

Q:  per Gen. 1:27,  How was man created in GOD's image?

  •   Gen. 1:24 - 27
    • Ps. 8: ALL
    • Ps. 82: ALL
    • Ps. 9:1 - 9
      • John 5:5 - E
    • Ps. 9:7 - E
    • Ps. 10: ALL
    • Ps. 11: ALL
    • Ps. 102: ALL
    • Ps. 103:1 - 14
      • 1 Cor. 15:12 - 22, 35 - E
      • Rom 8:1 - 9
      • Is. 11:1 - 9
    • Rom. 8:7 - 23
    • 2 Cor. 5:1 - 10
These scripture passages indirectly answer the question that was raised; they seem to focus on the prior verse, (1:26).
To arrive at the answer, the first thing to remember is, GOD is "timeless", HE not bound by (our) time; or our clock, nor our calendar, nothing. And, while we know that v. 26 says: "...let us make man...", that 'timelessness' aspect of GOD impacts each and every person who has lived, who will live, and who is alive now, as an invitation to be a part of that 'new creation'.  As Paul says in his letter to the Corinthian church, '...we are workers together with HIM...' in our own lives, laboring to bring each of us, individually, to that perfect likeness of the son of Man, who is our example, our pattern.
Verse 27, (Gen. ch. 1) also bears that 'timelessness'.  HE, (even though it says "created man in HIS image..." (past tense),  HE is still working with us, (again, individually), revealing that pattern through HIS Word,  showing us who HE is, and what it means to be in HIS image, to become HIS son,, to be made perfect, and acceptable to HIM.   So that we can receive those robes of righteousness, on that day.
And even though Christ uttered, on the cross, "...it is finished,,,", HIS work is completed to make that way to become a 'son', we still need to 'see' what that perfect man is, and how we can diligently seek HIM.

  • Jer. 17:1 - 11
  • Is. 55.1 - 3
Notes:
  • Jer. 17:5   '..Cursed is the man who puts his trust in the arm of man..."   This is  dire for everyone who ignores God; those who believe in a god they imagined, one who, they believe, will 'wink' at their evil, and not reward them for their doings.   "Warn them from me...'  and " God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance... for He is not slack concerning His promises..."  pay attention to what those promises are: reward evil for evil, good for good, (but HIS Definition of both those behaviors, not what we think they are)..

  • Ezek. 16:15 - 49
  • Mal. 3:5 - 10
  • 2 Peter 2:  ALL
  • Col. 1:  ALL
Notes:
  • (re: Rom 15:4)  "...with patience, AND the comfort of the Scriptures, we might have HOPE."  Not for this life, but for our reward: eternal life.
  • (re: 1 John 2:19)  "They went out from us, but they were not of us....") [they were not a part of the body, the church], "...if they had been of us, they no doubt would have continued with us; but they went out, that they might be made manifest, that they were not all of us".  The Catholic church proclaims that their 'early church fathers' were contemporaries of the Apostles.  Yet their doctrine is not that of the Apostles.  This is their condemnation by Paul.
  • (re:L Is. 55:8) God is GOD!  Carnal man cannot understand 'His ways, His thoughts'.  Man fails to acknowledge this, and thus becomes his own god;l his thoughts,  his desires,  his lusts are unrestrained.  Society today is incontrovertible proof.
  • (re: Lev. 19:22)  Sodomy is an abomination to GOD.  It is black and white, not gray; not contestible, no '...but! ....but!.  Two cities were destroyed, as a lesson to all generations after, that it is 'black and white'. (see the note above:  GOD's RULES stand.)
  • (re: Col. 1:9)  worldly knowledge is what drives us forward in our understanding of how this world 'is'. Spiritual understanding gives us knowledge about 'WHY'.  A phrase I heard many years ago states:  "Imagination fills in the gaps where there is no understanding present"  We see this in the 'lore' of past cultures, and in our culture. Ghosts, goblins, aliens, and the lies so many people ingest, (believe), about 'what is right vs. wrong'.   These points, these notes, all tie together: "...Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness...."  and "Thou shall LOVE the Lord your God, with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and your neighbor as yourself."  These are the greatest commandments, everything else is pedicated, contained, depends on these two, first.

Buying without money, 12March2023

  •  Is. 55: ALL *
  • Gen. 10:32, 11:1 - 9  **
  • Deut. 31:16- 19, 21 - E
  • Ps. 78:21 - 39
  • Luke 21:1 - 36  ***

Notes:
  • * (re: Is. 55:1)  "...he without money, buy and eat, buy wine and milk without money and without price..."  Thinking of this statement, you have to arrive at the idea that, either God is instituting a 'welfare state' or, what is being purchased is spiritual, not carnal. Therefore, how do you 'buy' something without a 'medium of exchange'?   The message of the Bible is: GOD is everything. He has abundantly more than you need, in order for you to be 'His "son" '. But that requires your 'investment'; Paul calls it a 'living sacrifice... your reasonable service'. Israel's 'cost' was obedience to HIS law, and fulfilling their calling, to be 'kings and priests to the world'.
  •  (re: Is:55:8)  "{My thoughts are not your thoughts..."  Here, to Israel, and by extension, to all of humanity,  God is GOD. On a natural level, we cannot understand Him or His plans for man, except we understand His Word.  (Continually) doing that,  we come to know HIM, and in doing so, He knows us.  "Christianity" preaches that 'we need to accept Him';  yes and no.  We need to acknowledge that God is GOD, and put nothing else above Him, or in His place. This includes our own thoughts and imaginations or someone else's understanding of (their) God, We need to KNOW HIM, for ourselves.
  • (re: Is. 55:13)  Instead of 'thorns and briars', a phrase we hear from other prophets and Apostles, something else will grow.   Christ often refers to trees, vineyards, and 'plantings', (which He/His father have planted), which yield fruit, or don't.  Briars and thorns are not 'productive' (except for more of the same!). All these are metaphors for people being and doing what they were not supposed to (briars and thorns), versus 'fruitful plants'.  When Israel does what they were called to do, (and haven't yet done), they will be likened to fruitful trees, (fir and myrtle trees).
  • ** (re: Gen. 11:1 - 9):  Post-flood humanity reverts to their own imaginations, even after the consequences of that endeavor in their recent history. With 'one mind', they seek to evolve (their) society, to elevate themselves to magnificent heights; they desire to build a tower to heaven, (to 'get closer' to 'god'? or to be gods(?)).  It is written that their goal is to "MAKE US A NAME...", i.e., something to unite us in this goal, and for posterity. God intervenes.  How much different is: today's global economy, 'our' social network regimes, and our focused mindset on being (our own) 'gods'?  Aren't we trying to control everything? The climate, the future of the planet, (environment and resources), humanity's well-being, world hunger/poverty?  Truly, "(we) are gods!"
  • *** (re: Like 21)  'What shall be the signs when these things shall be?'.  Answer: It's happening! And guess what?  Your investments, your silver, your gold, your IRA/401K or any off-shore accounts, nor your stockpiles of pallets of 30-day supplies of 5 yr shelf-life food: nothing will save you from the calamity to come.  "Seek ye first the kingdom of God,...."; '...work out your own salvatioin...";  "...look up, for your redemption draweth nigh..."

([*} re: Job 13:4 )  Job calls out those who practice 'religion' as being creators, (forgers), of lies, i.e., liars, and 'worthless'  physicians, who do not 'heal' (spiritual illnesses).
  • This is an indication of the 'healing' that is talked about throughout the rest of scripture.  (eg:  Jer.14:19; Jer. 30:13; Nah 3:19 Mal. 4:2;  and the actual physical healing Christ did as evidence of His anointing by God;
  • also a reference to this is James 5:14-16, those who are sick need 'saving'.  Its not a physical thing, its about a sin-sick soul, (--of a nation that forsook their Savior, their God)
([**] re: Job 13:5) ;  our paraphrase of Job's admonition to his 'friends':  shut up and sit down; "let your silence be your wisdom".  People, religious preachers, evangelists, and 'proselytizers' going about preaching lies, ought to be silent until they  have a better understanding of His Word, until they KNOW GOD, through His Word.  (see below, another note addresses this more...)

([***] re: John 5:37-40)  Christ is the 'anointed'/Messiah, sent from God; they rejected that fact!  He tells them, 'search the Scriptures, they prove who I am; but you don't believe, so you don't know those 'Scriptures', even though every last one points to the Christ. If you would, you would find eternal life, but no. you won't'.

([****] re: Ps. 5:4 )  Evil cannot dwell in God's presence!  He does not take pleasure in man committing evil!
  • So how could God create a satan?  Much less, another 'god' who has any influence over man(kind).  He can't, He didn't, He wouldn't!
  • any soul that has not put away their 'old man', their carnal desires, and expects to be 'saved' is worshipping their own 'god', their own fleshly desires, to do what is contrary to being 'in His image', a born-again 'believer', a 'son'.
([*****] re: Ps. 18:31)  Who is a rock save our God?  Isn't this the dame 'rock' that followed them in the wilderness, (1 Cor. 10:4), Christ?   What?  Word-Pictures are impressive for those who comprehend; others, not so much!

([******] re: Ps. 19:7 - 11)  I mentioned last week that the reality of "knowing" GOD, was not a 'brain-function'.  It has been said 'it's not so much that you know God, but that HE knows you'. (I) think they both have to be true.  In knowing God, He then knows you.  Christ says to the religious 'big-wigs' in his day, "If you believe not that I AM (translators added 'HE'), you shall die in your sins. (see [***] above). It's not a 'head-knowledge' "knowing"! Rather it is to experience GOD, (again, not a 'warm-and-fuzzy' feeling, but having a communion with  the creator of 'everything', having a relationship with your 'heavenly Father'.  To the point of knowing God, the psalmist in this chapter, is saying these things, not reciting 'facts', but telling them from his experience!
  • a really easily understood example of this is the situation where several new mothers are in a room, their babies in another room;  one cries out, and his/her mom jumps up to see what it needs.  Mothers know their babies voices, their individual 'cries' without doubt or hesitation, "was that my baby??"  They 'know' their own.

Notes:
(re: 21 Cor. 5:9)   "Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him."  Contrary to evangelical christianity's doctrines, we can't 'accept' him, because: that puts GOD in an 'inferior' position to our ego, our blasphemous ideas that HE HAS TO PROVE HIMSELF TO US!  WOW!  Just WOW!   But again, that is nothing new to the pagan ideas of God, His name, His sovereignty, (i.e.,  the 'God'head), that have deluged all of religion,  since before the Apostles died off;  they weren't there, to correct, reprove, rebuke, admonish all those ideas that infiltrated early, first-century 'churches'. (The first churches were 'outnumbered' but those who followed the pagan ideas, proving the 'WIDE' vs 'NARROW'  statement by Christ.)

The Mess the World is in: RCA (Root Cause Analysis): RELIGION!

Had man, (Israel) been and done what they should have, given the 'blessings and curses' warnings and exhortations from Sinai, the pervasiveness of 'evil' would have been dealt with. Instead, man, (Israel), made their own rules, made their own religion and ignored the immeasurable number of pleadings by GOD, through His prophets, to return to the 'office', to the role He made for them, i. e., "kings and priests".

NOTES:
  • (re: JDeut. 7:10:)  "...and (GOD) repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them; he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face..."  Peter, in his 2nd letter, (ch. 3, v 9), refers to this explicitly:  "...the LORD is not slack concerning his promises, as some men count slackness,  but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance...) He, (Peter) explains what those promises are in the next verse, when he warns that "...the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night...", and great calamity, catastrophe, and destruction will occur.  This also refers to the verse in (the book of the)  Revelations of John, (ch. 1, v7), "...every eye shall see, every nation and kindred shall... wail...".God's promises are inescapable, without salvation.

re: "Fallen" Angels: NO Such thing.

Disclaimer:   there is no such thing as 'fallen angels' in Scripture.  When you understand what angels are, and what 'Satan'  is, (and is not),  you understand what Scripture says about them.

  • Jude 6   "...LEFT their first estate..." this isn't 'fallen'.
  • Rev. 12:4 - 5   "...his tail drew a third part and cast them down to earth..."
  • Is. 9:12 - 16   "...the prophet that teaches lies, he is of the tail..."
  • 2 Peter 2:1 - 5    "... spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, ...reserved unto judgement..."
  • Rev. 2:9, 24     "...blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not!, (they) are of the synagogue of Satan..."
  • Rev. 12:7 - 9   "...the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world...he was cast out into the earth, ..."
  •  The Genesis story of Adam and Eve generates many questions.  IF a 'devil' or 'satan' "deceived" them: 1). How was Eve "deceived"?  Read the exchange very carefully!  Doesn't James' explanation about temptation, (James 1:14) put blame on the person, giving in to 'his own lusts'? 2). Why is satan's punishment not appropriately commensurate with his/its 'sin'? 3). Who/what is the "seed of the serpent"? Has anyone seen 'snake(people) lately? [Don't we call deceivers' "snakes in the grass" ?  Isn't that an indication of what the Bible actually means?] 4). Is there only one devil?  (cf. John 6:70).  5). If satan's self-defined, (if he could have done so), if his role is so focused on influencing man(kind), why is he(?) only mentioned twice in all the 39 books of the O. T.? [Genesis, in Eden; and Job, first chapter].  No other transgression by any of the characters so prominent in the pre-Messiah history infer, much less actually name satan or (the) devil, as being involved!  6). If sin, and sinners, cannot be in GOD's presence, (He's a consuming fire), how is satan able to be with Job,  when he presents himself before GOD?  7). GOD says in many places, O. T. and N. T., that "HE is GOD alone", that there is "none else beside ME", and other verses that definitively preclude the possibility of any other entity that has any power over man.  All these, and more, tell us that "there is no being (created), that we can blame for our failings, when we all must give account 'for the deeds done in the flesh'.
  • Luke 10:10 - 16   "...and thou, Capernaum, which are exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell..."
  • Dan. 12:1 - 3  "...many shall shine as stars..."  Are these the 'stars' that were cast down?
  • Deut. 28:9 - 14   "the Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, ,,, the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail,  thou shall be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath;  if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God..."  Is this the 'tail' that did the 'casting down"?
  • Deut. 4:1 - 10  (to Israel:)  "only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen..."
  • Dan. 8:9- 13   "...the sacrifice and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot..."
  • Zech. 14:1 - 7  'all nations gathered against Jerusalem, to trod under foot....'
  • Rev. 11:1 - 2   'Holy city, trodden under foot 42 months...'
  • Dan. 7:17 - 22  'a horn made war with the saints'
  • Amos 5: ALL   'wormwood'  (NOT a natural disaster on the bodies of water of the earth).
  • Amos 8: 9 - E  '(evil) shall fall and shall never rise up again'
  • Ps. 103:17 - E "...bless the Lord all ye his angels, who do his will..."  (contradicts man's definition of angels' purpose and (cap-)abilities).  a). If GOD created them to obey HIM, how can they not (obey Him)?  Man alone has the option,  or choice, to obey, or not.  b). According to Gen. 1,  man is the only creature/creation GOD 'breathed' into, imparting to him a "free will". How, then, can any other creation, (i.e., angels),  disobey GOD?  c). if angels were created, there's no Biblical mention of when. Wouldn’t that be important for mankind to know?  d). Why would GOD 'create' anything whose sole purpose, whose Job#1, was to destroy what HE, (GOD), created?  e).  Ultimately, the idea that GOD would, (make an antagonist, to fight HIM for every soul,  for whom CHRIST died!), impunes who GOD IS!   So, NO!  There is no such being we can use as a scapegoat.
  • Ps. 104:  ALL   '...let the sinners be consumed off the earth...'
  • Ps. 94: ALL  Vengeance belongs to the Lord.
