Apologies for network device issues; first few minutes of study were not recorded; Zoom and PC were off line.
Study originated from brief questions and comments on Sunday, about the similarities of the lives of Joseph and Jesus. Discussion started off talking about the 'type and shadow' aspect of Joseph's life. The pertinent point of he discussion deals with the verses in Deuteronomy about "a prophet line unto myself will GOD raise up.... hear HIM!..."
- Deuteronomy 18:9 - 15
- Jer. 23:1 - 8
- Deut. 18:15 - 22
- Heb. 8: ALL
After the discussion thus far, I raised a question to Ryan, (originator of topic), asking 'Why was the link between those two people necessary?' What does it profit? It doesn't improve or diminish either's lives, nor does it negate either one, because the type and shadow accuracy is not 100%. Elevating the 'type and shadow' between any OT --NT topic/person is placing undue emphasis on the link, and discredits both by taking the focus away from the parts, to look at the (imperfect) connection.
- Heb. 11:1 - 25
- Heb. 5: ALL
- Heb. 11:24 - E
