short recap of Sunday's discussion of 'firmament'

*Due to an internet feed line down, there was no recording or Zoom meeting tonight. 

We discussed the concept of the firmament from Genesis chapter 1, and what it is.

Then we talked about the serpent, dashing one-third of the stars of heaven to the earth, which led us to...

• Dan. 12:2 - 3    ... 'wise'  will shine as stars of heaven;
• Ps. 140: ALL    ..the evil and violent men....
• Nahum 1: 6 - E    ...wicked counsellor
• Ps. 73:  ALL     ...'He will despise 'their image'...
• Heb. 12:22 - E    ..the things that can be shaken, will be!
• 2 Peter 3: ALL    ...Heaven melted with fervent heat.
• Heb. 12:1 - 5     ...'laying side the sin that besets us'  and Jesus, who opposed the contradiction of sinners against him...   

This is the same idea expressed in those two phrases:  sin doesn't 'attack us', but it is everywhere around us, in full view, and oppressing our steadfastness. It besets us daily.
