 a).  Hos. 6:5  'slain by the words of my mouth'  refers to the flaming sword == His Word;  however, Hosea's writing is about the judgment meted by other men, fulfilling HIS Words.

b). Ezek. 28  'thorns and briars'  refers back to Ezek. ch 2, and to Paul's 'thorn in the side'.

c). Ps 95: 7-8 'harden not your heart,  refers to Paul's reiteration to the Gentiles referring to this same instance of Israel's history, 'as in the day of provocation'.

d) Is. 7:12   '...waters'  are evil people, as in ch 57:20. )
