the meaning of words; from Sun 22Sept2019

Here are the passages our study covered this morning; (I will use the same conventions for syntax as previously used).

Deut. 28: 58-E
Is. 5: 13-E
Matt. 24:1-39
Ps 58:1-6
     2Tim. 4:14-17
Ps 58: 6-E
     94: all
     97: all
     49: all
Rev. 9: all
Ezek. 2: 1-7
John 2:11- E
Jer. 23: 5-E

Interspersed with these passages were comments on the craziness of the world, especially American culture, which mimics the 'don't do this...' of the OT prophet's warning, and God's 'Blessings vs Curses' admonition.  The world seems to enjoy making light = dark, dark = light; making sweet = sour; sour = sweet; trusting in (man's) wisdom, elevating science and emotion,  while ignoring Truth.
The mentality of Americans today is the natural descendent of what 'religion' has taught, that man is 'due' all that he wants, while remaining mute about what Paul has called 'inconvenient'.
This mentality is so pervasive, it has seemingly 'silenced' any dissenting voices to the evil being done, not just by the real 'heathen' religions, but also by Christians, who (seem to) have no knowledge about what the Bible says is good and right.
Having the understanding of that, puts us at the forefront, to be the watchmen, to anyone who will listen. Don't let it slide, when someone speaks a lie. They need to be told they are incorrect, their wrong ideas must be refuted by scripture.
"To whom much is given, much is required" is recognized world over, when it pertains to the carnal  'endowments' man has been given.  It is even more true when it comes to the understanding God gives, of His Word.
